I enjoy all aspects of my role, but I’m especially passionate about working with and inspiring students. I like to see them succeed and grow, be excited about what they do, find meaning and purpose, accomplish their goals, act with integrity, treat others with respect and contribute to the various communities they are part of. Working with the Prism Resources student-employees, in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, is an absolute delight! Gives me great satisfaction to watch them start in entry level positions, in this student-run program (i.e. Member Service Representatives, Trainers), and grow into exceptional leaders (i.e. Managers, Vice Presidents, Presidents).
I've worked for Laurier since September 2012 and I’m inspired by the sense of community and long lasting supportive relationships. There are many opportunities for growth, in an environment of collaboration and collegiality. There is a focus on professionalism and integrity, open communication and a passion for hard work and commitment.
I value honesty, integrity, transparency, relationships, communication and hard work. Being of service to others, making a difference, demonstrating respect and enabling change is what motivates me. I like to do what is right, not what is easy, and I welcome challenge and change. Through my various roles at Laurier I was given the opportunity to guide and facilitate whether that’d be by working with students, faculty or staff, or assisting as a volunteer.
Lazaridis School of Business and Economics is a very welcoming place. Focusing on academic excellence and students’ success, the school is home to more than 6,000 students. Working in the Dean’s Office, and being part of the Financial Operations team, gave me the opportunity to meet and serve a lot of faculty and students, while being supported by wonderful colleagues and managers.
I aim to inspire the students I interact with in various capacities, by demonstrating commitment and passion in everything I do, being sensitive to their needs and working side-by-side with them to fulfill the vison and the mission of Lazaridis School of Business and Economics and Laurier. With an innovative and inclusive approach, we put ideas into practice and help everyone feel connected by participating in the decision-making process, whether that’d be related to their roles as student-employees or as volunteers in various events.
