I received my PhD in English from the University of British Columbia in 2000, my MA in English from Concordia University in 1993, and my BA/BFA in English/Creative Writing from the University of Victoria in 1991.
Prior to joining Laurier, I was a tenure-track hire at Memorial University of Newfoundland (2001-2004).
My academic research focuses on utopianism, music-making and 20th/21st-century American literature. My creative work examines Canadian immigration, Central European politics, historical memory and art-making in the context of the short story.
I am willing to supervise graduate students in the areas of 20th-century American literature, post-structural theory, music and literature, and utopianism.
