After falling in love with teaching and learning through the inquiry-based BHSc program at McMaster University, I decided to pursue teaching and education policy to better support children and youth learning and well-being in K-12 schools. I completed my MT (Intermediate/Senior, Science specialization) in 2014 and my PhD (Educational Leadership and Policy) in 2024, both from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto.
Since 2012, I have held research roles and collaborated on research projects with non-profit organizations, school boards, universities, and the government. I have also taught in both public and alternative schools in both Edmonton and Toronto. I am currently a Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellow working with the non-profit and advocacy group People for Education and Dr. Kelly Gallagher-Mackay to help develop a brand new Annual Canadian School Survey.
