I am a registered psychotherapist (RP) and certified music therapist (MTA), having received a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy from the Gestalt Institute of Toronto in 2023, and a Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018. I have clinically supervised and taught students in Laurier’s MMT program since 2022.
I have worked at Homewood Health Centre, a mental health and addictions treatment facility, since 2020, with prior experience in community mental health, long-term care, hospice, and oncology settings.
I currently serve as the Equity Chair on the board of directors for the Canadian Association of Music Therapists, and served as the Regulation Chair for the Music Therapy Association of Ontario from 2019-2021.
Current research explores issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the music therapy community in Canada, as well as the impacts of a closed cohort 4-session music psychotherapy group as a tool for processing trauma. Past autoethnographic research examined imposter syndrome as an emerging music therapist, and a clinical research study examining the impacts of group music therapy for individuals with eating disorders.
I am honoured to share knowledge, resources and experiences while learning alongside Laurier’s MMT students and our future music therapists. I wish to promote curiosity, dialogue, and questioning with students about themselves, our roles, the people and communities we serve, and the systems we work within. I look forward to a new term of collaboration and discovery.
