I hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd) and a Bachelor of Music (BMus) in Performance from Laurier.
I am trumpeter, music educator and entertainer.
I currently hold positions with the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra and the Wellington Wind Symphony. In 2016, I performed as principal trumpet with the nationally-acclaimed Scotia Festival of Music in Halifax.
I have experience playing in orchestras, big bands, musical theatre and studio recording. I have recorded with award-winning Canadian artists Jesse Maranger, JoJo Worthington and Mappe Of. In 2012, I was the first trumpet player to win the Laurier Concerto Competition.
As a music educator, I have a busy studio of trumpet and piano students. I am also part of the brass faculty at Southampton Summer Music. My passion for music education has provided me the opportunity to teach grades seven and eight instrumental music for the past three years. With innovative teaching strategies and creative inspiration, my goal is to challenge students to refine their skills and develop exceptional musicality and creativity.
I feel incredibly privileged to teach, create and explore music alongside my students. As a teacher, I hope to give you the tools and strategies to achieve your musical goals. My aim is to set you up to be a lifelong learner and performer of music.
