Music has played an important role in my life. In my musical journey, I had the privilege to study with Dennis Alexander while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree as a piano performance major at the University of Montana. His insights have inspired me to continue my journey in discovering the art of piano pedagogy, which is the study of piano playing, at the University of Oklahoma under the tutelage of the leading pedagogues, Dr. Jane Magrath and Dr. E. L. Lancaster.
I graduated with a Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) and have had the opportunity to work in various client populations such as children and adults with developmental delays, children with autism, pediatric medical care, and adults in dementia care.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked with children of all ages in my private studio and undergraduate students pursuing their music degree in Malaysia. With these diverse experiences, I hope to share my passion and knowledge with my students.
I believe that everyone is unique and has their own personal strengths and needs. Therefore, I am eager to discover what makes them unique with every individual student in their musical journey.
