Additional studies includes: lute performance at the Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow; classical guitar master classes with Jorge Cardoso, Jorge Morel, lute with Paul O’Dette; International Guitar Festival in Volos, Greece; Kindermusik Workshops, Winnipeg, Manitoba; continuo playing with Toronto Continuo Collective under Borys Medicky and Lucas Harris; Lute Seminar in Cleveland, Ohio; Tafelmusik Summer Baroque Institute, Toronto; Amherst Early Music Festival in New London, Connecticut.
I teach all levels of guitar playing, and perform as soloist and accompanist on lute, guitar and theorbo, often in collaborations with such wonderful local performers as Jennifer Enns-Modolo, Rona Goldensher, Daniel Cabena, Terry McKenna and many others. I am a member of Nota Bene Baroque Players and Toronto Continuo Collective. I have participated in eleven CD recordings (in Canada and Poland) and each was a rewarding adventure for me. Some of my recordings can be found on YouTube and on the short TV film “Sounds of Canada.”
I researched a 17th century lute manuscript from Gdansk. The article on that subject and a catalogue with concordances was printed in the Polski rocznik muzykologiczny (Polish Musicological Yearly 2012, Poland). In musicological literature it is the world's first comprehensive description of this important source of Polish musical culture. For the facsimile edition of this tablature (D-B Danzig 4022), printed in Germany in August 2013 by Tree Edition, I wrote the English version of the article. In 2019 Polish Musicological Yearly printed my supplement to the original article.
Teaching is my passion. I like to interact with people, share my knowledge and help students find joy in making music. Students often inspire me and I strive to inspire them.
