Print | PDFHello Laurier students, faculty, alumni, staff and friends.
My name is Cynthia Johnston Turner, and I am deeply honored to join the team at the Faculty of Music and at Wilfrid Laurier University.
When we return to campus and begin again to make music together, my top priority is to ensure that our Laurier music community is well and thriving. As we slowly recover from this intensely difficult and ongoing trauma, we all need to look after each other.
I can’t wait to meet every member of our Laurier music community…students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends…and as we move back to being in our campus spaces again, please know that my door will be open as much as possible and that you are welcome to stop by. And I hope that you do!
I’m eager to join the conversation with the senior leadership of Laurier to think and act strategically, inclusively, and bravely about the future.
I applaud the Faculty of Music’s forward-leaning curriculum and programming and the appetite to continue to innovate. Continually questioning the status quo in terms of how we do things and more importantly, WHY we do what we do the things we do is crucial as we navigate together what it means to be a musician in the 21st Century.
So many exciting possibilities!
See you soon! And Go Hawks!
