Do you want to learn how to prepare for auditions, set and achieve your goals, and perform with confidence and focus? If so, you won’t want to miss the free Mental Performance Speaker Series with Mental Performance Coach, Beth McCharles, PhD.
Beth McCharles is a certified mental performance coach who has worked with Olympic athletes, musicians, and other high performers. She will share her expertise and insights on how to optimize your mental skills and achieve your full potential as a musician.
The series consists of three workshops, each covering a different topic related to mental performance. You can register for one or more workshops, depending on your interests and availability. However, space is limited, so don’t delay! Priority will be given to 3rd and 4th year students. If there is space, it will open to 1st and 2nd year students. 1st and 2nd year students should keep an eye on their email for an announcement that space is available.

Workshop 1: Audition Prep
Friday, September 15, 10:30am-12:30pm in A221
Learn how to create a 6-week schedule for audition preparation, practice deliberately and effectively, and own your strengths. This workshop will help you develop an intentional process that leads to a successful audition.
Workshop 2: High Performance Gap Analysis
Friday, October 20 , 2:30pm-4:30pm in A221
Discover what stands in the way from where you are and where you want to go as a musician. Identify your performance gaps and learn how to fill them with strategies that work for you. This workshop will help you set and reach optimal performance goals.
Workshop 3: Conquering Performance Anxiety
Friday, November 17, 10:30am-12:30pm in A221
Gain the tools needed for a controlled but free performance state. Learn how to boost your confidence, focus, and preparation. This workshop will also teach you how to deal with performance inhibitors such as negative comparison and perfectionism.
