Janfest 2025: An Unmissable Opportunity for Young Musicians!

Location: Wilfrid Laurier University Campus, Waterloo, Ontario
Join us for Janfest 2025, a dynamic three-day festival designed to inspire young band musicians and elevate their musical journeys. Open to students across Ontario, Janfest offers exceptional learning, performance opportunities, and connections with talented peers and professionals.
Nomination & Registration
- Teacher Nominations: Nominate 5–10 students who are passionate about band and demonstrate proficiency (Grade 1.5–2 level repertoire or higher).
- Fee: $50 per student – a valuable experience with three days of music-making and inspiration.
- Nomination Deadline: Submit your nominations by Thursday, December 19th at 8 p.m.

1. Tailored Ensemble Placement
Students are placed in ensembles that match their skill level through placement auditions, ensuring a personalized and enriching experience.
2. Masterclasses and Rehearsals
Led by Laurier music faculty and guest artists, students will engage in intensive sessions to refine their skills and techniques.

Evening performances by Laurier faculty, student ensembles, and local community groups spark inspiration and highlight musical excellence.

Important Information for Teachers
- Chaperones: Teachers or designated chaperones are required to accompany students.
- Accommodations: Laurier does not provide lodging. Out-of-town participants must arrange their own accommodations.
- Schedule: Please review the schedule and plan your visit accordingly.
