Join us for Doors Open Waterloo Region 2024 to explore Laurier's Faculty of Music newly renovated Savvas Chamberlain Music Building. We are proud to be one of the 26 local destinations featured, and we invite you to experience firsthand our state-of-the-art new facilities and exciting musical learning environment.
What to Expect:
Laurier Academy of Music and Arts (LAMA): Representatives will be on-site to answer your questions about our music lesson offerings, for everyone from babies to adults.
2024-2025 concert season information: Discover an exciting lineup of concerts and performances we have planned for the upcoming season.
Student performances: Enjoy live music performed by our talented students throughout the day.
Interactive opportunities for children: Engage in fun, music-themed activities designed to inspire our youngest visitors.
Save Your Seat campaign unveiling: Be part of this special moment during which donors can take a photo with their sponsored seat. You will also have the opportunity to join the campaign and choose and name a seat on the spot.
Tours: Explore our beautifully renovated spaces through self-led or guided tours. Learn about the improvements that have made our facilities a premier destination for music education, rehearsal and performance.

Laurier’s Faculty of Music has undergone an exceptional renovation, which created a vastly improved space for teaching, rehearsing and performing. This new gateway to the university’s Waterloo campus is sure to inspire all who visit.
“Laurier’s Faculty of Music is a national and international leader in music education, music industry education, performance, scholarship, and music therapy,” says Cynthia Johnston Turner, dean of the Faculty of Music. “Our new facility inspires and excites, making it an inviting hub for students, faculty, alumni, and members of the musical community in Waterloo Region and beyond.”

The Savvas Chamberlain Family Foundation’s generous $5 million donation to Laurier’s Making Space for Music campaign, along with contributions from numerous donors, has been pivotal in transforming our campus.
