Print | PDFExciting insights into the world of orchestral composition for visual media! Recently, Laurier alumnus Adonijah (Nijah) Mitchell, a 2023 Bachelor of Music in Composition graduate, wowed our students with a captivating presentation on his musical journey and the art of composing for film, video games, VR, and AR.
As an accomplished saxophonist, Nijah shared valuable guidance for aspiring composers, diving into the tools, methods, and techniques that bring visual media to life. His sophisticated orchestral scores, both sonically stunning and visually rich, showcase the depth of his talent.
Nijah's involvement in the Winterlit project of Winter 2023, where he was commissioned as one of the ten student composers, exemplifies Laurier's commitment to providing professional experiences for undergraduates. Under the guidance of Barbara Assiginaak, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Composition, Nijah contributed to this unique outdoor installation project in collaboration with Conservational Halton.
Join us in congratulating Nijah on his artistic achievements and impactful work in the world of orchestral composition for visual media!
