My graduate training was completed at the University of Western Ontario. I received an MSc in Kinesiology (Neurovascular physiology) 2007 and a PhD in Medical Biophysics (The Impact of the Sympathetic NPY System on the Progression of breast cancer) in 2013. Prior to joining Laurier, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center (Molecular Imaging) from 2013 to 2016 and at the University of Guelph (Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology) from 2016 to 2019.
My research interests focus on sympathetic neural regulation of the circulatory system at rest, during exercise and in diseased conditions. This research extends from molecular to systemic neurotransmitters/peptides induced responses.
