Dr. Xu’s research focuses on dynamics of market valuation, corporate disclosure, corporate social responsibility and big data mining/analysis. She also works on intangible assets and stakeholder -related topics. Her research has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Deloitte and Canadian Academic Accounting Association Research Grant and Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and Canadian Academic Accounting Association Research Grant. Her work has appeared in many academic journals, including Contemporary Accounting Research, Information and Management, Journal of Business Research, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and Issues in Accounting Education. Her current research projects address CEO compensation, stakeholder management, decision-making for risk projects and firm multi-step disclosure strategy.
