After an MA in Political Science, I completed my PhD at the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC) at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2013. I conducted post-doctoral studies at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University (2013-2014), before joining the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands (2014-2017). I am on the faculty of Wilfrid Laurier University since 2017.
Outside academia, I have worked as a CSR consultant and sustainability analyst.
My main research interests include corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. I study how activists, investors and other stakeholders interact with firms to shape policies in these areas at the corporate and institutional level. I also analyze how executives attempt to effectively manage and influence stakeholder expectations and attitudes towards their firms.
My current research projects focus on framing contests and impression management strategies that shareholder activists and boards of directors employ in their contentious interactions.
