Leanne is a Lecturer at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. She earned an Honours BBA at Wilfrid Laurier University in 1991 and a Master of Education at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018. Leanne spent 9 years in the field of commercial finance with CIBC and Canada Trust, holding a variety of front line lending manager positions as well as regional and head office positions. Special projects included developing total quality management practices, re-engineering credit processes, as well as delivering sales and marketing training. She taught Introductory Math and Small Business Management courses at Conestoga College from 1998-2000 and then began teaching at Laurier in 2001. In 2023, Leanne became a co-dealer of a specialty footwear retail business and shares responsibilities for sales, marketing, finances, and management.
Leanne teaches introductory business courses as well as entrepreneurship courses. After working with first year students for many years, she has formed a special interest in academic transition and skill development strategies; Leanne works closely with a variety of Laurier Resource Centres to support student success. She is currently designing a first year critical thinking and communication skills course.
