His primary research areas include applied microeconometrics and applied microeconomic theory in the field of health economics. Specifically, his research is on the economics of primary health care and covers three specific areas: utilization of health care services, the determinants of healthy behaviours and health care financing (e.g., financial barriers to access). More broadly, McLeod is interested in how social survey and administrative data, and the application of appropriate parametric and nonparametric econometric methods, can be used to further our understanding of the economics of primary health care. His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Canadian Journal of Economics, Applied Economics and the Journal of Health Economics.
I am willing to supervise Master of Arts in Business Economics Master’s Research Papers (EC681) in the area of health economics. If you are interested, please meet with me before the start of EC681 to discuss your project.
