Dr. Brian Warrack, a former faculty member of the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics from 1975 to 2005, passed away on July 17, 2017 at the age of 74.
After earning his Masters and PhD in Mathematics Topology at the University of Alberta, Dr. Warrack taught in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alberta. Dr. Warrack joined Wilfrid Laurier University, where he taught courses in corporate finance, investment management, statistics, and decision analysis. Dr. Warrack’s publications included several well-regarded textbooks on statistics for business management as well as a book on proximity spaces.
Dr. Warrack was also a skilled tennis player who had a standing challenge for his Laurier students. If they could win a match from him, they would receive an A in the course. A handful of students tried but alas they were unsuccessful.
We extend our condolences to Dr. Warrack’s family including his wife Karen and his daughter Cynthia.
