Print | PDFCritical thinking is one of the most important skills needed for leaders’ job success.
For the Lazaridis EMTM sessions on February 24 and 25, Dr. Sara Beckman from the Haas School of Business at University of California Berkeley was our special guest, presenting situations where critical thinking and a problem-solving mindset are important skills for a leader. She later broadened out her discussion to business model design. This included having the Lazaridis EMTM learners build business model canvases and then innovate them, disrupting industry beliefs. Sara Beckman framed most of her examples in the context of building innovation capabilities. She used the innovation cycle to demonstrate the significance of going through all of the key quadrants of the cycle in order to create the settings when it becomes possible to frame and reframe the problem to be solved.
As one of our Lazaridis EMTM learners later put it: “… the two-day sessions were among the most practical and useful learning experience of the Lazaridis EMTM program so far.”
