On September 6, the Lazaridis Executive Master’s in Technology Management (EMTM) program welcomed 12 new learners into its fourth cohort.
Once again, the executive master’s program director, Hamid Noori is proud to welcome learners from some of Canada’s top companies such as Rogers, TD and Linamar.
“Over the next 11 months, individuals who are currently strangers will become friends and colleagues as they learn with and from each other in a truly integrated and collaborative way.”
The class of 2019 was joined by program alumni, faculty, university administrators and leaders from across Canada’s tech industry. Everyone came together to help kick-start an academic journey that will expose learners to the latest research technology disruption management and the best practices for keeping a tech company thriving.
The rest of Orientation Weekend saw learners participate in a ‘Meet the Experts’ session with Lazaridis School faculty, take part in an outdoor team building and challenge course, and receive an introduction to strategy and human resources. The highlight for the group was a presentation on the state of innovation in Canada by Paul Preston, Director of Science, Technology and Innovation Policy at the Conference Board of Canada.
Adeel Mustafa, an alumnus from the third cohort spoke about his experience of once being a new EMTM learner, “I was taking lessons from class back to my job right from day one. Each class was taught by a highly qualified professor who brought the theory into the real world. The added value of an outstanding mix of co-learners made this program an experience that I will continue to benefit from and cherish for the rest of my life.”
