Building Hours Schedule

The university recognizes that no single schedule of building hours will accommodate the requirements of all individuals and that some flexibility is necessary for the operational efficiency of the university. A significant number of Laurier’s buildings contain multi-use spaces that include academic, administrative, residence and off-campus housing, and student centre buildings. As a result, a building hours schedule has been created to list the open, controlled and restricted building hours for university facilities:

  • Open Building Hours: The time when a building’s exterior doors are open to users, including students, employees and the public.
  • Controlled Building Hours: The time when a building’s exterior doors are locked to the public, but are available to designated device holders through electronic access devices (One Card).
  • Restricted Building Hours: The time when a building’s exterior doors are locked. Employees and other device holders with specific approvals may have limited building access through electronic access devices during these hours.

Questions and Access Requests

Carry your OneCard/keys with you at all times to ensure you can access buildings and rooms. If you forget your OneCard/keys and require access to a university facility during operating hours, contact Business and Facilities Operations at 548.889.3242. If you require access during restricted building hours, contact Special Constable Service at 519.885.3333, who will receive requests and review them on a priority basis.
