St. George’s University School of Medicine
Whether you’re just starting to explore the idea of medical school, or you’ve already decided on medicine as your future career goals, Laurier’s pathway agreement gives graduates a competitive edge and preferential status into the internationally accredited medical school St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine.
This degree pathway will prepare you for a clinical career in Canada and around the world. Students can study on-campus in Grenada, West Indies or be part of the global health scholars’ program in Northumbria University in Newcastle, United Kingdom.
Top Program Experiences
Here are just a few things you can count on from SGU’s program:
- Flipped Classroom Model: Instead of sitting in lectures you can expect more case-based sessions and simulation labs to help you put your learning into practice in a controlled environment.
- Cadaver Labs: You can put your anatomy lecture learnings into practice and sign up for programs that teach you how to cut and work with cadavers.
- Interactive Teaching Instruction: Throughout your courses, clinical instructors will pause in the lectures and allow you to dive deeper into the topic at hand.
- National Board Medical Examination Prep: There is National Board Medical Examination (NDME) prep that is integrated into the program curriculum from day one to help you feel prepared for when you take the assessment.
