Waterloo – Supply Chain Management Association Ontario and Wilfrid Laurier University have reached an agreement that would provide an efficient path for graduates of the Master of Supply Chain Management program to pursue their Certified Supply Chain Management Professional designation.
The designation is an internationally accredited certification of strategic supply chain leadership and is Canada’s most widely held designation in supply chain management. To grant advanced standing, Supply Chain Management Association Ontario assesses the curriculum for each program component.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us how critical well-functioning supply chains are to our way of life,” said Laurier’s President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy. “Having future-ready managers who can design and implement these complex and interconnected systems is vital to the wellbeing of our communities and economy. This valuable partnership will benefit our students by equipping them with the credentials they need to become leaders in the supply chain field.”
Delivered through Laurier’s Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, the Master of Supply Chain Management program is designed for working supply chain professionals, with classes running on Fridays and Saturdays over 12 months.
“The Lazaridis Master of Supply Chain Management program represents the kind of innovative credential needed to propel our graduate students to the next level of their careers,” said Micheál Kelly, dean of the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. “The powerful combination of professional partnerships such as this, and the Lazaridis School’s focus on delivering high-quality, experiential learning will give our graduates the edge they need to succeed in this fast-growing and exciting profession.”
