For Immediate Release
Brantford – A colourful, vibrant celebration of self-expression, Winter’s a Drag returns for the second time to Wilfrid Laurier University’s Brantford campus. Taking place Jan. 24 at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, the event features performances by professional drag artists, an artist meet-and-greet, as well as a photo booth and prize giveaways.
In addition to being open all who wish to attend, Winter’s a Drag sources its prizing and merchandise for the event from locally owned restaurants and shops in downtown Brantford.
“Our first Winter’s a Drag event was incredibly well received, and we look forward to welcoming guests from the campus and the broader community again this year,” said Beth Sanders, campus experience coordinator. “It’s a fun, warm and inclusive event, providing a welcome evening of entertainment to break up these dark days of winter.”
Doors to the Sanderson Centre (88 Dalhousie St., Brantford) will open at 7 p.m., and an artist meet-and-greet will start at 7:15 p.m. The performers take the stage at 8 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome. Seating will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Winter’s a Drag is presented by the campus experience coordinator in the Office of the Senior Executive Officer at Laurier’s Brantford campus, and made possible thanks to support from the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, Wilfrid Laurier University Alumni Association, Student Alumni Association, Dean of Students’ Office, Laurier Brantford Grants and Enterprise Brant.
The campus experience coordinator’s mandate is to create meaningful connections between the campus and community, and to enhance vibrancy in the campus district of downtown Brantford.
