Print | PDFThe Sustainability Office at Wilfrid Laurier University is accepting applications to the Sustainable Hawk Fund. Launched in 2015, the fund awards up to $30,000 annually to kick-start projects that promote sustainability at Laurier. The application period is open until Jan. 13, 2023.
Projects seeking funding can be led by Laurier students, staff or faculty but must support at least one of Laurier’s Sustainability Action Plan themes, which include climate, waste, engagement and diversity.
To ensure equal access to programming, various project funding streams are available:
Projects in all phases of development can apply to the Sustainable Hawk Fund, but priority will be given to those in the seed and growth phases.
Applicants must submit a completed application and budget template by Jan. 13, 2023. A business plan, creative assets, or goals and deliverables can also be submitted with the application.
After the application period closes, projects will be assessed by Laurier’s sustainable campus committee. Selected applicants will pitch their projects to the committee, which will provide feedback or award funding.
Since 2015, the Sustainable Hawk Fund has awarded $154,000 to 48 projects. Read more about Sustainable Hawk Fund projects happening at Laurier.
