Print | PDFWilfrid Laurier University is saddened by the passing of Peggy Arand, a member of Laurier’s Food Services team for more than 30 years. Peggy passed away on Aug. 16, 2023. She was 64 years old.
Peggy joined Laurer in 1991. She will be remembered as an integral member of the Food Services team, providing exceptional, first-name service to faculty, staff and students. Peggy’s warm demeanor and friendly personality will be missed by her family, friends, Laurier colleagues and students.
The university will lower its flags to half-mast in Peggy's honour.
Peggy leaves behind her son, Jacob Arand, siblings, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 24 Temperance St. in Milverton, Ont. Laurier’s Food Services team will honour Peggy during an in-person memorial to be held at a later date. Details will be shared with the Laurier community when they become available.
Condolences and donations to Jacob Arand’s education fund are appreciated by Peggy’s family and can be arranged through Henry Walser Funeral Home.
