Starting your program in the winter term means that some of your items on your incoming student checklist need to be done in a different way. Here’s the information you need to help you start your program in January, including your comprehensive incoming student checklist.
You must accept your offer of admission by December 11, 2024, unless another deadline is stated on your offer of admission.
If your offer of admission is conditional, make sure you send in your final official documents before the deadline:
Read instructions for how to submit your final documents and what we consider to be an official document.
Learn about your alternate offer of admission, if applicable, by going to the “My Admissions Info” tab in your applicant portal.
Once you accept your offer, pay your $2,000 CAD tuition deposit within two weeks. You can pay your deposit through the CIBC International Student Pay portal or, if you have a Canadian bank account, through online banking. Include "Tuition Deposit" in the payment notes.
Do not submit your tuition deposit until after you have accepted your offer.
Once we have processed your tuition deposit, if you require a provincial attestation letter (PAL) we will initiate the PAL request on your behalf.
You will register for courses using LORIS: Laurier’s Online Registration and Information System. You cannot register for courses until you accept your offer of admission.
Laurier's Transition and Learning Services team is offering one-to-one support with course selection.
You should always refer to the academic dates and deadlines section of the undergraduate academic calendar for course registration deadlines. You should register for courses as soon as you can.
The last day to add winter term courses is Jan. 17, 2025.
Course registration is conducted through LORIS (Laurier's Online Registration and Information System). This is the same system you used to complete your application. This is the same website that you will use to pay your tuition and fee bill and check your student records.
Use the online course registration guide to assist you in your course selection and to help you navigate your way through course registration in LORIS. You’ll find important dates, course information, information on paying tuition and more in this guide. If you have questions or experience any issues with course registration, contact Service Laurier.
The Laurier 101 program is here to support you from the time you accept your offer until the first week of classes and beyond. Our team is ready to answer your questions and make sure you are prepared for your time at Laurier – both inside and outside of the classroom.
There is special Laurier 101 programming for students who are starting in the winter term, including:
Residence is not guaranteed for the winter term; however, there may be space available. You must be fully vaccinated to live in residence.
Follow the online application instructions to apply to residence. You should accept your offer of admission before you apply for residence. You will need your Laurier username and password to log in to the residence application (this is the same login that you used for the applicant portal and LORIS).
