Partners can nominate exchange students to Laurier at anytime. To provide the best service to students who must apply for a visa to study in Canada, Laurier has the following nomination and application dates.
We understand that delays with processing visitor visas to Canada and impacting students and we can be flexible with deadlines. If you anticipate that you require an alternative timeline, please email Mike Boylan, Coodinator, Global Engagement Programming.
This information is for students at institutions that have exchange agreements with Laurier.
The online nomination form must be completed and submitted by your institution's student exchange coordinator, who will be your nominator. Nomination forms submitted by students will not be accepted.
We will send both you and your nominator a link to the online application within a week following the nomination deadline.
You are responsible for completing and submitting the application by the deadline. You also need to include your preferred courses on the application and should consult with your home institution academic advisor.
We will work to have you enroled in your top courses but there is no guarantee they will be available. We will contact you regarding course registration prior to the start of your exchange term.
We will provide you with a letter of acceptance as well as pre-arrival communications covering accommodations, international orientation and more within two weeks after the application deadline.
If you are interested in studying at Laurier for one or more terms but your institution doesn't have an exchange agreement with Laurier, you may be eligible to study at Laurier on a letter of permission.
You will need to submit an application for admission through the Ontario Universities Application Centre and your home university will need to submit a letter of permission and a transcript to Enrolment Services, Wilfrid Laurier University.
