Your future Multidisciplinary Studies program.

  • Unparalleled Personalization: Specialize your degree with up to two disciplinary or interdisciplinary Minors (6 courses) or Options (8 courses) from over 30 possibilities. Work with an academic advisor to create your own personalized degree to match your academic and professional goals.
  • Flexible Study Options: Study this program online or on-campus depending on your preference. Multidisciplinary Studies is offered by the Faculty of Arts on the Waterloo campus and the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences on the Brantford campus, as well as fully online. Apply to your preferred location on the OUAC application.

  • Capstone Project: Bring together their learning across the program in an integrative way in the capstone course where you will work through the research process with your instructor and your peers.
  • Student Associations: Get involved in a student association like the Arts Undergrad Society during your degree and take part in student-led events and initiatives.
  • Study Abroad: Study abroad for a semester to immerse yourself in another culture and expand the walls of your classroom.
  • StartUp Lab: Laurier's StartUp Lab in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, which provides support, mentorship and resources to startups and social ventures founded by Laurier students.

Courses, Options and Pathways

Required/Core Courses

The BA Multidisciplinary Studies is a flexible program with only one required course in your final year.

AF495 Multidisciplinary Capstone Experience is a variable-content seminar that provides students with an integrative learning experience where they will bring together what they have learned across disciplines into a meaningful research project.

In order to prepare for this capstone experience in their final year, students in the BA in Multidisciplinary Studies work with an advisor throughout their degree to create their own academic journey.
